The head chef at Bar Mercato draws inspiration from the gourmet food markets of Europe, creating inventive dishes that are mostly designed for sharing. The chic gastropub only debuted a few weeks ago inside the Hyatt Centric, but it’s already earning buzz from patrons who appreciate the tapas-style menu.
As soon as you sit down, pick two or three small plates to share with your dining companion. Try the roasted red pepper hummus with pita chips, the bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese and drizzled with orange glaze, and the margherita flatbread with fresh mozzarella cheese and basil. Save enough room to try the popular grilled octopus swimming in a saffron white bean stew and the fried calamari with pickled peppers and aioli. If you prefer not to share, order a larger entree like an artisan burger, the steak frites, or the grilled salmon.
