The South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade/Evacuation Day Celebration Returns March 15

Bundle up and head outdoors on Sunday, March 15, in order to enjoy some revelry during the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Evacuation Day celebration. This unique event is focused on honoring Irish-American heritage and American war veterans of all backgrounds and creeds. In fact, the parade itself has been organized and led by veterans groups for decades, and this year will be no different. The parade will include a variety of entries, ranging from marching bands to local politicians, and including both traditional bagpipers and Irish step-dancing troupes.

To get the best view, you’ll want to stake out a spot on Broadway, anywhere between the Broadway "T" station and Farragut Road. Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants along the parade route where you can warm up afterwards with a pint of Guinness, a plate of authentic bangers and mash, and other St. Patrick’s Day specials.
